Born and raised in
Connecticut, Sandy Sgrillo relocated to Florida where she successfully
owned, managed and performed in a popular Miami Live-Entertainment
Show, which toured throughout Florida. She also owned a unique Hair
Accessories Company. Sandy also modeled, being featured in TV Shows,
commercials, World-Wide Magazines and live Runway Shows.
Sandy then
chose work as a limousine chauffeur for 10 years, providing her
with a lively, exciting lifestyle and opportunities to meet and
spend time with hundreds of famous celebrities. Yet, after 16 years
of her "city-slicker" ways, her desire to live in the
Smoky Mountains was strong enough to make her leave the famous,
white beaches of Miami for awesome scenery of the mountains.
In 1997, Sandy searched
and found a mountain-top chalet and made the big move she always
dreamed of. Once situated, she went on her first llama trek throughout
the beautiful forests of the Smokies. Realizing her strong love
for animals and nature, she knew this was the perfect business for
her. She set her mind to the task and acquired eight exceptional
llamas, trained them, formed her Limited Liability Company, and
received all of her State Licenses and Permits.
Featured in countless National Newspapers, TV Shows and local
TV Stations, Smoky Mountain Llama Treks has overcome all obstacles
and has become the South East's most sought after Llama Trekking
experience. Thanks to Sandy's insight, perseverance and determination,
people from all walks of life, even in wheelchairs, are now able
to share the fun and adventure of llamas and llama trekking!
