"Buckeye
Ridge" Trail,
Max Patch, North Carolina
(Easy to Moderate)
My favorite trail! If you
are seeking outrageous scenery of the mountains, then this is
it. Imagine yourself in the Sound of Music Movie with a twist of
the Wizard of Oz, and you would be at Max Patch!
Starting out at a lovely pond with a fishing pier, we proceed
down a wide, wooded path for about 2 miles. A quick stop at a
creek is next, then the trail narrows and we proceed up a hill
with a view, and a rest stop area. A big U-Turn leads us up into
the open flower fields, where the views are simply divine!!
We continue to our lunch spot, which is at the top of an open
field with a gorgeous view. After lunch, we proceed to the
highest point of Max Patch Mountain(4629ft), where you can
actually see the curve of the earth!
Note: This trek is about 5.5
miles long. Available for 6-Hr Lunch Treks Only. No Restrooms.
Additional $40 one-time travel fee.

"Creek
Hollow" Trail, Between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg
(Easy to moderate)
The Creek Hollow Trail starts
off from the actual llama farm, where you can first visit with our
entire herd! We take a short, wooded path that leads to a gorgeous,
bustling creek with a bridge. This is a great spot for photos and
letting your llamas take a dip or drink. (If you are lucky enough to
have Cuzco he will be the first one in the water!)
Then we continue on a loop-trail along the creek, where you may see
Mallard ducks, Beavers and native Trout. After a short jaunt down a
gravel road, we then proceed up a hill and take a beverage break.
Lastly, we enter another short, wooded path called the Green Carpet
Trail, and then return.
Note: This trek is about 2 miles
long. Available for 2-Hour treks only. Restrooms available.

"Bridges to Nowhere" Trail,
Wears Valley (Pigeon Forge)
(Easy)
This trail is actually not a trail, but an
unfinished, scenic, By-pass
Highway.
Starting off of a main road with plenty of parking,
it winds
its way up into the mountains providing
excellent views of the
Smoky Mountains
and surrounding farmland homesteads!
The
trail is mostly flat, very easy to walk,
and is gravel or paved the
entire way.
This trail is used for all of our handicapped treks.
There are
about 4 bridges to cross and
some excellent views at certain spots.
Although the trail is teeming with wildlife
(you may see deer, turkeys,
squirrels, foxes and bears),
you dont get that "out in
the woods" scary feeling
and is perfect for groups, or disabled persons.
Disabled Treks available only on this trail.

While enjoying the trails with the llamas, feel free to stop at any
time to photograph, have a drink or just relax.
We have no "set-in-stone" schedule to follow and the only
thing we require from you is to look, listen and enjoy yourself! (oh,
and to hug your llama!) |
